Your roof is the barrier and protective shield that stands between you and the harsh weather, so you want to make sure that it is functioning well to keep you warm and cozy all winter long! Taking a few simple steps to avoid winter roofing problems will help your roof withstand any storms, and give you the peace of mind you need.
Check The Attic
Check your attic for any signs of water damage because the first signs of a leaky roof can be seen there. Signs of a leak include water spots on the walls, wet roof decking, and puddles of water on the floor.
It's common for leaves, twigs, and other debris to accumulate on your roof during the fall season. However, if this debris is left on your roof all winter, the piles will leave your roof to become susceptible to water damage.
Clean Your Gutters
Gutters can catch leaves, sticks, and other debris. Make sure to clean them out in order to prevent clogging. This will also allow ice and snow to drain off of your roof in the winter!
