The purpose of your roof is to protect you from the outside elements. Think of your roof as a barrier - it's meant to protect you from outside dangers. Once that barrier falls, you are vulnerable to outside dangers.
What types of 'dangers' are we talking about? WEATHER!! Whenever there's a storm or rain, we always look for shelter. Your home shelters you from the outside. Here are some specific weathers that our roof protects us from:
Over time, these climates affect the lifespan of your roof. The average lifespan of a roof is twenty years; afterward, it begins to deteriorate and won't be able to protect you from the outside elements. In fact, a deteriorating roof invites the outside into your home!
