How Your Roof Was Built

Roof Replacement Process

You may be asking yourself, “how can I replace my roof if I don’t know how it was built?”
We can answer these questions for you! By understanding how your roof was built, you are capable of knowing what to look for and what repairs need to be done.

The first part of how a roof is built is the plywood layer. This plywood layer is the first layer of the roof and is considered the construction of building a roof.

The next step to building a roof is tar paper. This part of building a roof is also called the membrane of the roof. The purpose of this is to protect the plywood from water damage.

The next part is installing drip and rake metals around the perimeter of the roof to help direct the water off of your roof and into the gutters or the side of the home.

The final step is installing the shingles onto the roof. The shingles are the final part of the process.

Once the roof replacement is complete, you will have peace of mind to know that your roof will stay protected for many years in the future. With a new roof, the home can withstand wind storms, heavy rain, and ice.
